Do you retouch any photos?

I like to take photos that show you how you are right now. If you have a bad pimple, coldsore, or blemish that would heal away in a few weeks I’ll edit that out. Otherwise I want your photos to be a true as they can be to who you are. Those smile lines are from laughing with your loved ones, and I want to help celebrate those.

Do you give out your RAW photos?

I don’t give out the RAW versions of any of my photos. Part of the experience is the editing work I provide.

How does payment work?

After we’ve settled on a date and package:

• For sessions: 50% of your total is due on booking as a non-refundable retainer. The remainder is due 1 day before your scheduled shoot.

• For weddings: 25% of your total is due on booking as a non-refundable retainer. The remainder is due 7 days before your wedding day.

Payment can be made through credit card, or EMT sent to hello@coltonpolitte.com. Payment plans are available upon request.

When will my photos be ready?

You’ll receive your completed gallery within 8 weeks (some sessions may have a shorter turn around time) of our scheduled shoot, usually a tad bit faster. Any extras (prints, film reels, or bonuses) can take longer depending on the delivery times of the selected shipping service. If you selected the “Skip the Line” option then I’ll be delivering your online gallery within 7 days, any extras will still follow the usual timeline.

You’ll receive a link to your gallery in an email from me where you can save, share, and order prints of any photo you like inside.

Is there a time limit for me to download my gallery?

After you receive your online gallery link you’ll have 12 months to access, download, and direct order prints from the site directly. After 12 months the gallery will be removed from my online server. If you are looking for your photos past that cut off date send me an email! A fee may apply if the gallery is several years old as I may need to open up some older storage.

How long do you retain photos for?

I try to keep copies of all my work indefinitely, as I am a sentimental person and have problems letting some things go.

All that said, though, hard drives fail and storage eventually becomes full. I keep all final edits in storage for a minimum of 5 years after the shoot. After that length of time the edited versions may be lost.

What do I/we wear?!

The first answer to this is: whatever you’re most comfortable in! If you want a hand picking colours/textures/fabrics, though, you can’t go wrong with neutral earth tones, denim, and linen.

Do you offer boudoir/spicy/dating portrait sessions?

Yes! Connect with me to view a curated portfolio, and to chat through your ideas. Rates are comparable to standard portrait sessions.

Do you travel?

All my regular rates include travel within the St. John’s Metro Area (most of the Northeast Avalon). Further out in Newfoundland or Labrador, or out of province? Connect with me to chat it through!
